Fried cabbage (with bacon, onions and garlic) πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹


1 head of chopped cabbage
1 chopped onion
2 tsp. minced garlic
5 pieces bacon, cooked and crumbled
Reserved bacon lard
½ tsp. onion powder
½ tsp. garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste


Cook the bacon and set it aside to cool, then drizzle the bacon fat.
Put the bacon fat in a deep saucepan or skillet, and cook the onions until softened.
Add garlic to the pot and stir for another 30 seconds.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the cabbage to the pot. Stir and then cover. Simmer until the cabbage is soft.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste. Fry another 2-3 minutes.
Add the shredded bacon to the top of the cabbage and serve
