Old butter cake recipe


°2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
°1 1/4 cup sugar
°1 tablespoon baking powder
°1 teaspoon salt
°1/2 cup soft butter
°1 cup milk
°1 teaspoon vanilla 2 eggs

*Methods :

Heat oven to 350 degrees F . Grease and grease two 8-inch by 2-inch baking trays and set aside.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Add butter, milk and vanilla. Using a hand mixer, beat for 2 minutes, scraping sides of bowl occasionally.
Add eggs and beat for another 2 minutes.
Pour mixture into prepared pots, divide evenly among pots. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Take it out of the oven.
Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then invert cake onto cooling rack to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite frosting. I used my favorite chocolate cream, the one on the back of a can of Hersey Cocoa.
