Coleslaw is recipe created in New York about 1650, when the city was under Dutch rule & is still called New Amsterdam.Cabbage production is very important: vegetables are easy to grow and Dutch cuisine is very beneficial.
Coleslaw was invented by Dutch immigrants, and its name comes from the contraction of Dutch words: cole for cabbage, and salad (or lettuce), which gives coleslaw salad and which spells cabbage salad.
Several years ago, we found more & more ready-made coleslaw in France in supermarkets.But nothing beats homemade cabbage salad, so we present our recipe for this homemade salad.
* Ingredients :
° 1/2 cup mayonnaise
° 1/4 cup milk
° 1/4 cup milk
° 1/3 cup granulated sugar
° 1 teaspoon salt
° 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
° 1 & 1/2 tsp white vinegar
° 2 and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
° 4 cups grated and diced about a medium head
° 1 medium carrot
1/4 medium onion, chopped
* Directions :
Chop cabbage & carrots also cutting to small cubes.
Mixing every vegetables in blending bowl.
In sized bowl, whisk dressing ingredients. Cast on vegetables & stirring wiith spoon wooden.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Stir again before serving.
